Volunteering
Want to be part of a new, fun & creative enterprise?

We’re looking for volunteers to help run the Story Train at Stanhope Station on the Weardale Railway, a community arts space for visitors, schools and local communities.
​
Tasks involved:
- welcoming people onto the Story Train
- helping with arts activities (no experience needed)
- preparing the coach for groups
- cleaning, tidying and transforming the coach into a creative space

We're seeking freelance artists, workshop facilitators, and project/events coordinators to join our team.

Hire the Story Train
If you would like to hire the Story Train for your group, organisation or for a private party, please get in touch with us.

We are working towards having the buffet car fully operational, including the kitchen for catering. Please get in touch if you would like to find out more.
Donate
We rely heavily on the support of donations as well as grant funding to to ensure access to The Story Train and all we offer is as affordable as possible for everyone.

Citizen Songwriters is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company that manages The Story Train.
